BUILDING A PARTNERSHIP WITH THE COMMUNITY
The concept behind the National Youth Football League is simple.
Create an organization that is closely tied to the community.
Provide superior entertainment.
Promote academic achievement to participate.
Move youth football and cheering awareness to a higher level.
To build character in our youth (our future leaders).
The East Coast is rich in football tradition, from the little league recreation teams to the professional teams. Teams from every corner of the cities and counties, from the nine men touch team to the flag team or the full contact Men and Women’s tackle teams. There are youth football teams that have been around for more than thirty years. The high school teams, that produces quality players who go to college and do very well. The semi-pro and minor professional teams, that offers a second chance to play after the school and college days are over. Not to forget the weekend warriors who get out on the Saturdays and Sundays, to give it that one last shot. The Canadian Football League, that came and left the state of Maryland with winning seasons, before migrating back to Canada. The Baltimore Colts and the Washington Redskins, who are institutionalized in the community and now the Baltimore Ravens has regained that sense of community attachment.
In all instances, someone on every team has played youth football. Maybe not Pop Warner, but some form of recreational football or cheering. The training forum for the high school team, if a player or cheerleader has the basic context, before reaching high school. When they sign-up for the team or squad on the high school level, they already know the basics and realize that without the academics, you cannot play sports.
The National Youth Football League is an organization that is attempting to bring more organizations and publicity to Little Scholars Football and Cheerleading. The organization has created throughout the state in what has become a network of Youth football and cheerleading, featuring teams from Baltimore City, Baltimore Co.and Prince George's Co. This structure provides an organization that can help to move the image of youth football and cheering to a higher level.
As a part of this league, we seek to be the premier organization of its kind in the Baltimore-Washington area. We plan to provide programs for any youth who feel that they wish to participate in football or cheering, in the form of instructional camps and clinics to the full levels of competition.
As a member of National Youth Football League, we strive to promote excellence in academics and in Football and Cheerleading.
